About Hyde Park MA

Hyde Park is the southernmost community in Boston. The town was a separate community formed from parts of Dorchester, Milton, and Dedham until it was annexed by Boston Massachusetts in 1912.  Nearby communities are Oakdale, West Roxbury, Milton, Upper Mills, Mattapan, Milton Village, Readville, and East Dedham. Hyde Park was built around River Street and was a manufacturing community with paper and cotton mills. Politics has always played a big role in Hyde Park with the latest major event being the busing crisis in the 1970’s. Hyde Park is the hoe of the current Boston Mayor, Thomas M Menino.

Hyde Park is served by MBTA with the Hyde Park station on the Attleboro line. It has 121 spaces for parking . Bus routes 32 (Hyde Park Ave.) 33, and 50 connect with the station.
